A traditional (mixed media: Water color, soft pastels, photoshop ) piece I did last year,
This is done using mostly pastels, but my crappy camera couldn't capture its pastel tone very well, so I worked on more painting on Photoshop.
Anyways, the theme was water pollution;
I heard that 780 million people live without clean drinking water, and it is quite shocking that there are more and more water contaminated every day, each year. Hopefully, if more people have environmental awareness about this topic, we can save the world c:

I love that you used a different medium! Its just fun to play around with something different some times, and its even better when you do it so well that you make people cry at how bad they are at using the same stuff that you just rocked out with. *wipes tear away* My favorite part of this piece is something that I may believe was a 'happy accident'. In the oil, on top on the middle water droplet, is some Fan-FREAKIN'-Tastic colors happening. I am willing to bet that it was the camera's flash making that happen but that(to me) just makes it even cooler. That little bit of bright purple was faith-ed to be there. Its purple enough for the cool colors but has enough red that tries its darn-est to keep your attention. That aside, I really like your water. I have a hard time drawing water still, so, it just makes me happy. Not to forget that the girl's face is just, GAAAAAAH, I love when you draw people. Her face is so serene. All of your work is mind blowing, so I'm not going to blow smoke for you forever. I hope you understand <3
I main reason for rating impact so low is because your newer pieces are so lovely and well executed, where as traditional art tends to give unwanted smudges and finger prints. I'm picky and that sort of thing bothers me, so don't mind that. The Impact was also effected by the movement that is happening in the picture. The oil in the water is drifting up(which is something that oil does, so, kudos), the girl's hair goes up into the color and fishes, but nothing is bring the movement back down into the piece again. The eye wants to stay in the fishes, butterflies, and colors. I dont know if this is just a me thing, too, but when I looked at this piece for a while('cause I wanted to give a proper critique and not miss out on anything!!) I noticed that the colors and shapes looked blended and a little chaotic. Especially where the one fish is jumping out of the color, because there is quite a bit of detail squeezed into that one area.

and yea I agree, I do -very- often leavesmudges, pencil marks, fingerprints, stain of sauce, etc. /cough /cough ....I guess i'm too used to digital medium.
Well, other than that, yes I think it could be better if the viewers focus more on the bottom part, that's why I put water droplets on the bottom. Maybe something more than just oil at the bottom since there are a lot going on the top, I couldn't think of something creative at the time... ahahah xDDDD

Imagination portrays itself to be a dew drop of a legend
It doesn't freeze since it is made of innocence and things to be fed in.
Overwhelming circumstances envelops the seconds and minutes
No time to speak since the mind has to go through critics
The rainbow tessellates and forms a pattern made from the wreckage
The wreckage being the formless shape that it has made since the salvage
Being born and to die in order to live by the second
The formless water waiting to be breathed into the air and bled in.
Leaving a touch of pleasure
This art is one of a treasure.

Okay, I really ADORE that the branches/roots are hands~
Wonderful work with pastels, and sadly we all don't have those MAKE-EVERYTHING-LOOK-SUPER-BADASS CAMERAS that you had to make use with Photoshop, but it still looks so lovely Q ___ Q <3
I like the simplicity of it actually. And by simplicity I mean that it draws the viewer to your main focal point (the girl in the center) and the message the work is trying to convey. Colors are gorgeous <3
I know topics like pollution, etc are typical and obvious when conveyed but even without knowing the title of this work you can feel the emotion from it. I
never knew the title of this untill I finished this critique.

I stared at this artwork for god knows how long. The colors are so rich and vibrant and as I went through each area thoughts and memories came rushing back to me, and it all left me with this happy sort of nostalgia. Wonderful piece, Definitely making this one of my backgrounds.
