Description
The Anson class battlecruiser was a class of seven heavily modified Meltoria class battlecruisers meant for service within the UNCF. Medications included a more traditional UNCF cruiser bow, an enlarged hanger to facilitate the carrying of a Seagull, increased tonnage for the UNCF's larger turrets and greater antiaircraft power. The battlecruisers made the voyage from Garmilas to Earth in an unfinished state, where they were outfitted with weapon systems. They were offered by the recently formed Republic of Garmilas government as somewhat of a peace offering to Earth, several months after the Yamato returned. The Garmilas government intended that the ships would provide a keystone for an Earth Defence Force, but Earth had bigger plans, especially after the Time Fault was discovered not long after the ships were laid down. After the embarkment of the Wave motion Fleet plan, the Anson class faded into the background, though two members were refitted with a wave motion gun. Plans to refit the reminder of the class were canceled after the difficulty of the refit. Main armament is twelve 15-inch guns in two quad turrets and two dual turrets.
