This is so gorgeous. I love everything about it- her dark, messy hair, her "punch"y eyes, the striped shirt. It's a fun picture

This picture just happened to be, it wasn't planned, but I guess it was somehow inevitable that it would come out this way

That's great to hear from a talented photographer like you. May I ask when you begun and have been into photography?

Sure. I started taking pictures with disposable cameras and polaroids since I was 12 and did pretty good with those that I took it up in college. Journalism actually, and I excelled and worked as a collegiate photographer at 17, then the school paper and then I got an internship with Walt Disney and I moved to Orlando for them. While I was down there my skills doubled, if not tripled, and I branched off and learned so much that I thinking about it now, the experience itself was more valuable than anything. Then I moved back to Pennsylvania and did some stuff for a cosmetic company then got hired out of an interview to freelance for a Chicago Tribune paper. That's what I do now. And then I photographed Dashboard Confessional, MTV's Five Times August and some models.

So that's where I'm at now.

Way to go. Thanks for telling. Seems like the photography(-related) education way is the way to do it.

It's tough, but you'll be a better photographer for it.

So much talent is wasted in this prissy schools and their art snobs.

I bet it is. So what exactly is your take on, say, a one-year photography-only education? Would that year be better spent working for a newspaper or the like? Always interested in different opinions.

No, I think that'd be valid enough to show you what you want to and what you don't want to do as you become the best photographer you can be. As lame as that sounds, it's true.

I'd take it a step further and get your education and freelance for a newspaper at the same time. It'll teach the fundemental lifestyle we have: by assignment, pressure, accomplishment, organization, determination, all that.

Cool, well this is just an opinion of an amatur... her hair, make up and eyes are somehow really fitting in this work, the loks of her hair are a little bit curled which fits with the bubble gum, well hard to explain in my simple english, but I would love to see the photo in colour also, looks like a really cool photo in colour.
