This honestly has to be one of my absolute favourite pictures on all of dA. I love the feeling, the concept. It's very bitter, but also very sweet. Just the way I felt about Ace's passing.
And you know what? I've always imagined it was indeed this way - that while Lu was suffering, thinking that he could not go on living because his brother would never come back, Ace, in fact, never left his side, even in death. And this is how Lu actually managed to make it through - with the silent, albeit utmost sencere support of his beloved brother.
I can truly say this has made my heart swell with emotion and I downright adore this piece of art. I really hope you do more such things in the future!

omgggg are you trying to kill me with this? T____T I just saw how you can see through him over Luffy auuuugh, I got tears in my eyes. This is super well done, as all of your art is. I just absolutely love how you capture Luffy and Ace's relationship/interaction, and you do such a wonderful job of putting emotion. It doesn't feel like a static picture-- it feels like you captured a moment in the middle of movement. AUGH THEIR EXPRESSIONS srsly I'm going to die over here T__T

I haven't even gotten to the part where Ace is -gone- and whenever I think about I tear up a little D: Hell, looking at this wonderfully depressing picture makes me wanna sob >:

The utterly depressing part was not only Ace's death itself, but the aftermath - Luffy just literally broke down. It was so hard to watch, I mean, could you possibly imagine Luffy, OUR LUFFY, cry so hard that his throat bleeds and scream about how he'll give up on being a pirate because he was weak and unable to save Ace's life? So heart-wrenching, it wasn't even "sad", more like "terrifying"...
