Thing is, I actually liked the show. I acknowledge its flaws though. Β By no means perfect. And idk if you may have noticed, but yes, I spent many submissions displaying how much I actually enjoyed it.
That said... This submission was just made to "take the piss" Β It was at a time when some people were taking the "anti-lu" art too seriously. It's important to not take the affairs of fictional characters too deeply to heart. Β Otherwise it can make you massively unhappy. (which happened to a certain person that I debated with for quite a while.)

Last panel is genius. My son came over, looked over and saw it. First thing he said was "I like it! It Bugs Bunny". I wish I had a tablet, or else I'd volunteer to ink and color this for you.
Oh, and funny thing is, that whole alternate universe thing can easily be summed up by one character: Superboy-Prime. Any comic book nerd would easily remember what happened to him, and the can of worms he opened up with that.

Siriusandpyri In reply to ChaostheKitty [2011-06-15 12:01:25 +0000 UTC]
Well, in some strange idea, Superboy-Prime kinda describes Krypto's behavior. He's become a villain because he believes everyone else around him are the villains. However, I don't think we have to worry about him being able to slaughter 32 green lanterns.
Also, lol/thanks.

Yeah, now if only we had the ability to trap him in a comic book and leave him in dusty box somewhere to rot.
And you're welcome.

this is NOT enough provocation! and about what you once told me about my alternate universe theory, I realize there's another universe where they're just fine but that doesn't mean the versions of them that are dead don't matter. if an alternate universe version of you died yesterday in that reality, does that mean he doesn't matter just because you're alive?
π: 0 β©: 1
Siriusandpyri In reply to Krypto451 [2011-06-14 16:06:55 +0000 UTC]
Ah so the rumors are true, you're still out there bullying people for their imagery, stories, and opinions. Gee, aren't you just a bed of roses.
And yes, as far as this universe, and my life is concerned, it doesn't matter. Again, the whole Multitude of universes things makes it definitely not matter.
As between waking up today and dinner, an infinite number of myself will die an infinite number of times in an infinite number of universes if you support this theory.
If you worry about every single version of everyone that dies in every single universe, it'll drive you insane (if that hasn't already happened.)
My dear boy, you are in over your head with things that you simply cannot comprehend but attempt to do so. There's not just "another" universe in this theory where they'd be fine. There's an infinite number of other universes with this outcome.
An infinite number of universes where you yourself are a LU hater and have drawn these pictures. And another infinity of universes where this is not a fan work, but actual canon within the series.
There would also be universes where they're the villains and you're positively rooting for their death that way. This occurs in infinitude.
And your own argument serves to make your argument utterly pointless. As supposedly if you were to die in this universe, the only you you truly know. If there are infinite universes, Not a single one of your alternates would know, and if they don't know they don't care. Now THAT would matter to you, but not to the rest of you.
Simply put, your interpretation of a potential theory, is complete bullshit.
Please, my dear boy, learn your place and stop attacking people for their drawings, or their opinions. People are free to express them here without fear of being attacked, or at least they are supposed to be. It has bitten you in the ass several times, and will continue to do so. This may even lead to your permanent banning from DA for your absurd behavior.
Not that you inspire fear in any of these people, but are merely an annoyance.

I'm not bashing fictional characters. Foolishly you make assumptions. I enjoy the Loonatics dearly. You go around parading yourself as a true fan, but I guarantee you know nothing of what it means to be a fan.
It's more than just a fanatical devotion. It's developing an interest in something, for whatever reasons. In my case, I've watched the series several times, dissected every detail, attention to detail is key to the stories I was writing. It's relating to others with that interest, and seeing what works it inspires in oneself and others.
A true fan can accept a criticism of what they love, and can still enjoy it for both what it is, and what the other fans make of it. It's someone that can see how characters have evolved off of the stage in the many stories fans have written, how the fan works drive the perceived complexity of character.
Being a true fan is being able to like what you like, and accept the fact that others don't like it, and will produce works counter to your interest.
Being a true fan isn't some strange obsession where you make your word into law and bully anyone who thinks of the show differently.
I love the Loonatics dearly, and for a simple reason. The only reason why one would be a fan of a cartoon. Being a fan has provided me with entertainment. All other reasons are folly.
Unlike you, whom cannot DICTATE what a true fan is. I understand what it means to like something, and let others slide. To take part in the satire and the destruction of that thing I enjoy, to laugh at its weaker points, and marvel in its strong ones.
If anyone is not a "true fan" it is you sir.

I do realize there are flaws in LU. and I can take satire, I've actually faved some of Spootay's less gory work in the past. and you are supposed to take fiction seriously in all it's forms. to dismiss it as just entertainment would perpetuate the notion that you should not be emotionally invested in the story or care what happens to the characters.

Siriusandpyri In reply to Krypto451 [2011-06-14 18:46:03 +0000 UTC]
The entire point of entertainment is an emotional investment. Emotional investment is different from obsession. The investment is what leads to the payoff in a story.
However, investing oneself totally into the characters to a point where they cry over what others render as potentially happening to the characters is just complete lunacy.
Fiction is not meant to be taken seriously in the way you speak. It is at times meant to be serious, some with political or sociological ramifications. However when it comes to a fiction designed for the entertainment of children, it is NOT meant to be taken so seriously.
The entire point of fiction is in some form to entertain, and in some instances educate.
Becoming wrapped up in a cliffhanger situation as a deep character into which one easily invests their emotions faces their doom, only to narrowly escape, is at its heart entertaining.
Entertainment is the ability to run people through the course of their emotions.
I do not suggest a lack of emotional attachment, I just suggest that you're looking FAR too deeply into the aspect that you've become so over-invested that it is impacting your life greatly.
That is beyond unhealthy. Some of the stuff you like, your excuse is "the pain is temporary, it's not death." Well, depending on context though physical pain may go away, the emotional pain could potentially last a lifetime from any "temporary" action. Heck, some people can, through "temporary" pain wish themselves dead instead for the remainder of their lives.
Tell me, where is your seriousness and emotional investment there?
Being serious about everything (ESPECIALLY FICTION) can ruin your entire life.

That's just it. What happens to an individual incarnation of any person, being, or cartoon character, may matter to itself. But beyond that it really matters to none of its other forms.

Siriusandpyri In reply to Krypto451 [2011-06-14 18:37:11 +0000 UTC]
It doesn't matter what you don't want to be aware of. Get that through your head. Because if you don't want to be aware of it, then you SHOULD NOT be looking for any of it, or at any of it.
A simple rule.
If one wishes not to be offence'd, one must not seek out the things that offend them.
Otherwise you're just being a puerile fool by looking for things you don't like and picking a fight over them.
If you don't want to be aware, only you have the ability to take control and look away. Nobody is forcing it upon you.
