I love it's typing: Poison/Fire! But if this was real and saw it in the wild, I'd walk the other way! Or go waaay around it, lol. I hope it gets an awesome evolution so I have reason to potentially use Salandit in my party for more than to fill the pokedex. Him and Vikivolt are the coolest looking so far!

Literally the only poison type I've ever been drawn to. It's so cute. It's sneaky little eyes. It's mischievous little grin. I adore this thing. Probably my favourite so far.

i don't get the fox-like trait, i have seen some people say it but i don't see it.

Thank you! I think that its posture, expression, tail and ear movement make it look like a fox, not to mention that it has a muzzle and, well, ears. Its personality also seems pretty fox-like to me, fox bandits are a pretty usual thing in media

hmmmmm that sounds logical.
i just thought the "ears" are the headband (bandit mask) tied at his neck, creating the ribbon like things. I do remember the trailer showed them moving on it's own.. like a twitch, so it does come close to resembling ears that way, hmmm

Yeah, they are like a bow/tie that closes the hood-resembling mask it's got on. But they look like ears when looked from the front, and they move like animal ears

I don't really see this guy with an evolution, for some reason. Reminds me of Sableye a bit, maybe? But either way, I'm curious on what an earlier or late stage might look like

Well they're not really ears. They're located on its neck and come from the same point, they seem more like frills of some sort.

They're not part of its head, yes, but they look like ears when seen from the front, and the movement makes them look like playful fox ears, imo

I really don't see it. It's just a lizard/amphibian with a bandit hood to me, the way it moves just reminds of the way these kinds of animals move.
Plus if they really wanted it to evoke a fox they probably would have made it more obvious, it's pokemon after all.
But hey, to each their own.
