I don't know what to say exactly...Sometimes I just NEED to create something different from my usual stuff. I was inspired by my friend =Mavrosh with all her horned guys, by some art I saw here on DA and by something sinister I had in my mind. It is difficult for me to depict something evil or not human/elvish.
This one took me about 10 to 12 hours, Photoshop CS2 and a wacom bamboo tablet.
Meet Tamas. I don't know much about him... he sure like fire and he is literally hot
In this form his inner is like lava, he smells of molten stone and ashes and he radiates heat. He has an almost human form too, as he tells me. No claws on hands and feet, no grayish skin, no horns... In this form he s not that hot but still dangerous. Well... he is a demon!

I love the concept of this character, and I especially like how you describe how he smells - I've never known an artist do that before but the sense of smell conjours up instant emotions and memories in us humans and is more powerful than we give it credit for. The picture is very powerful and those horns are amazing!

I am still rather proud of this one because of the colour palette and the overall feel to it and I am glad you like him!
Mavrosh describes smell too. Her golden saint character smells of fire and vanilly. I love that! My Cronachan for example... I always imagine him smelling of herbs, a hint of grapefruit and man of course... a slightly tard but manly smell so to say.
And the horns... I am not much into horned humanoids, but if there are horns... they can be big and elegant. I had some african antilope as a reference....

I think the colours are fantastic, dark and potent. And the horns are wonderful! I do rather like horned characters, but I have to say that only if they suit the character. Sometimes I think horns can be added to a character that doesn't really need them, if that makes any sense. In this case, the horns are an absolutely integral part of the character, and I really like the way that they are portrayed in such a dark way with the firery accent on the ridges.

Since the colour palette I usually work with is rather... colourful, I *stole* those colours from a painting I really liked and tried to work with them. I made a bookmark of Tamas too...

Oh wow! This is very beautiful! There's such a sense of power radiating from the embers on the left, yet he seems to be in an almost praised type of stance. It's so hard to explain. But with his arms outreached, I feel as if he's enwrapped within the power of what has happened or what is occurring. The flow of his hair gives a grace to the completed image. 
Plus...the fact that he looks naked doesn't do any harm either.

Tamas can evoke fire, in his true form he literally IS fire. He loves to set things on fire and see the embers glow. Piss him off and you literally combust.

Ohhhhh, der ist dir aber ausgezeichnet gelungen. Damit triffst du ganz meinen Geschmack. Der ist sofort einer meiner Lieblingsfavoriten geworden. Tatsächlich habe ich letztens auch an Dämonen rumgebastelt... die Halloweenversion wäre eine Alternative für deinen Wettbewerb gewesen.

Was für ein schönes Kompliment, danke! Jaaa... ich bin etwas eingeschränkter und stehe eigentlich nicht so auf Dämonen und Hörner und so Dinge. Deswegen hatter er auch den Arbeitstitel Jupp und ich hatte bis zuletzt seinen Namen sogar im Titel falsch geschrieben. Ich entwickele auch nicht jedesmal einen Charakter komplett, wenn ich sowas male...

Jupp......oh ist das süß! Den Namen hat er jetzt auch bei mir weg. Und wenn du dich entschließen solltest noch weiter an ihm "rumzubasteln" (harr harr) vielleicht entwickelt sich ja auch noch der Charakter... als ich an Riigiz rumgeschrieben habe, war am Anfang auch noch nicht so viel Hintergrund und Charakter. Je weiter ich die Story geschrieben habe um so komplexer ist er geworden. Der böse Bruder kam erst relativ spät. Die Bilder von ihm sind erst danach entstanden.

Sowas passiert bei mir meist, wenn es mit dem Rollenspiel zu tun hat. Und Tamas ist nicht so gerade das, was ich jemals spielen wollen würde. Und als Gegner... puh. Ich finde allerdings auch Dämonen und gehörnte Dinge nicht so anziehend. Die totale Faszination dabei geht mir ab und meist sind sie mir auch zu übermächtig, um interessant zu sein. Aber das ist reine Geschmackssache und trifft beileibe nicht auf jedes gehörnte Wesen zu, dem ich auf Bildern oder in Geschichten hier schon begegnet bin
Selbst wenn noch ein Bild kommt... meist bleibt es sehr oberflächlich. Mein Naga Vismaya war da eine Ausnahme... aber er hat auch mehrere Leute inspiriert Geschichten über ihn zu schreiben. Das war dann ein Selbstläufer.

Hihi, dann solltest du meine Geschichte lesen, wenn sie fertig ist. Einen Teil kennst du ja schon... mächtig ja, aber nicht unbesiegbar. Ob ein Dämon übermächtig ist liegt ja an dem, der ihn dazu macht.

An instant fave right from the off. I love the difference from your usual style. It is intriguing and I love the fluidity of the pose. No, he's probably not the nicest horned guy in his class but that's okay. Sometimes the evil guys need their light too.

I played with the thought of somethng horned, but not with the usual demon horns and then I saw this pose and knew what I wanted. I am really glad you like it and YOU may borrow whatever character I have for writing, if you want to! Of course thanks for the fave too!
