I was not idle all these days... I painted!I finished two works but one I cannot show before November... *sigh*.
Well. At least I have Beyla. Beyla is an earth genasi, played by my best friend
She was described as a heavy-built woman with a sort of african look and a skin that looks a bit like earth and stone. Her veins glow when she weaves her rune magic. Her class is cleric and she wields a hammer.
I tried to depict Beyla as warm and friendly and since her magic is earth- related I made something green (acid).

Those rune stones look like the ones you were selling not to long ago! I love her skin and the rocky-veiny look she has. She does look friendly and not emotionless like a golem. I think it's her eyes. I love her dreadlocks and the hammer is so cool!

Yes... she was supposed to be friendly and warm, at peace with herself. If that translates, I am really happy! A genasi is a sort of half-elemental and shows traits befitting the element. Here it is the skin which looks like stone (though it is soft and supple) and there is always a faint smell of damp stone or earth near her.

Wow. That is very detailed down to the sense of smell. One probably always feels the need to plant something if she's nearby!

She's quite the woman. I love the way you painted her. She is warm and welcoming but there is also the feel that she definitely knows how to use that hammer of hers. I would not want to be the fool to cross her. I like the movement and textures in the piece as well as the careful attention to detail. Thank you for sharing this. It's good to see you painting again.
