This pattern would work excellent as a tattoo design for the outer pectoral muscle.

It would look great as a tattoo, The flow and the shapes are prefect, but its considered a massive taboo to get an arabic tattoo since the arabic script is considered sacred by the millions of muslim the world around, (its like the same for hebrew too)

I noticed the word calligraphy but didn’t realize it was actually script, what does this translate to? Is this mode of writing similar in some way to the way Japanese characters are used in the kanji systems of writing.

Nah this isnt script, orry thats my fault, it is calligraphy, but I meant the arabic language and its script in general are considered sacred. I'm not that familiar with japanese tbh, apart from it looks awesome! Theres a chinese calligrapher called Haji Noor Deen, you'll like his stuff

Oh and wikipedia has a good article on islamic calligraphy too [link]

This is really remarkable. I knew this alternate form of writing existed on account of it being mentioned on the odd occasion during the comparative civilizations course I took in high school but had never looked into it at depth. This mosque ceiling art in powerful, almost psychedelic, very striking when you consider the fact that these pieces were created by hand in times of yore..

Oh yeah, the skill these masters had was just unbelievable, check out ~ACalligraphy here on da for a wicked collection of the stuff. It still blows my mind thinking it was done without computers or any kind of aided design techniques.
Class dismissed lol

i believe the type of calligraphy comes from malaysia or brunei where i lived. i believe it says "selemat hari raya aidilfitri" we call it EID and they call it that-
