well just the natural tendency to want to see recognizable and familiar forms and patterns in what is otherwise random chaos... really hate when I hear someone say they see this or that in a painting and then I start seeing it too.

You're welcome. I have a friend who is an abstract artist and she is encouraging me to try to do an abstract, but I just can't. I don't know the techniques, or even how to start. There's much more to abstract art that just splashing paint on a canvas, lol.

check out "abstract expressionism"... for me thats the definition of great abstract... your emotions dictate along with the painting, what u create

This looks like it was a pain to do.
I like how you can see all of the texture and how you've incoporated the woman into the center of the crashing wave.

Don't mind me if this is a dumb question, but HOW did you DO this? It's...I want to stare at it for hours. There are all kinds of paths for the eye to trace, and the overall composition is so evocative. Ugh, this is fantastic.
