When I saw this on the newest deviations page, my immediate response was to fave and comment. Of course, I had not put the photo under proper scrutiny, as I do with most self-portraits. Normally, I like for a unique characteristic, something that poses striking to the eye.
I found exactly this in your portrait. The photo displays a slight over-exposure but is immediately covered by the facial beauty portrayed.
It is, however, slightly hazy, but this gives a different dimension to the photo. I have seen portraits like this before, but I believe this one in particular has an impact on the senses.
Your dark hair gives a strong intensity to the photo, and, in conjunction to the relaxing effect your eyes give off, the portrait serves as a wonderful example of self-portraiture.
I am glad you left the lips unattended with color, otherwise it would have confused the main focus of the photo that is your eyes. They deem mysterious, like dark perils in a lost ocean. Deep, that is what they are.
The first few seconds, I got quite lost in your eyes.
Overall, the self portrait is intense and soothing simultaneously. Wonderful shot, dear.
