Description What I wore for the haunted hayride.

The theme for our group was circus/freak show. I really didn't have any idea what to do, so I went for a deformed freak look. I wore all black and tethered myself at the neck so that people could hold me on a leash and then release me to claw and scream at the people on the trailer. I must say, it was immensely fun, even if I did get a little overexuberant and ended up battering my arms and knees up quite a bit.

For those of you wondering about construction: I blocked out my eyebrow and eye with kleenex held down with fabric injury tape. Then I liquid latex-ed a bunch of kleenex over top and painted the whole thing.

It wasn't too hard to get off, although it did hurt to rip the latex off of the more sensitive areas of my face.

I'm not sure because I don't really have any experience doing this sorta thing :I

I dunno where to get liquid-latex, or what that even is, and where you get your paint and what kind of paint to use. Then just kleenex texture and painting tips.

I wasn't really expecting anything though. Was more of a statement and less of a request.

Seems like this sorta thing takes some knowledge and skill that I don't have though

Hell, all this takes is some makeup supplies, a sick mind, and the will to experiment.

You can order Liquid Latex online from any stage makeup supplier. You can also probably get it from a party store now, since it's so close to Halloween. It's exactly what it sounds like: Latex in liquid form. You paint it on with an old brush, let it dry, and powder it so it doesn't stick to everything. I mostly use Ben Nye creme makeup, all of which you can get online or at a good costume store.

Basically, I just paper mache'd my face using Kleenex and liquid latex. Maybe someday I'll put up a tutorial, but I think that the best thing to do is just shut yourself in a bathroom for a few hours and glue stuff to your face to see what works.
