Description This is a piece that I was commissioned to do by Michael Finn for his awesome 'One Minute Later' collection, which are commissioned pieces of existing comic covers by professional comic artists, but with the events taking place 'one minute later' than the original. This particular piece is based on Marvel Comic's Journey Into Mystery #112, featuring an all-time classic battle between the Mighty Thor and the Incredible Hulk... drawn by Jack 'The King' Kirby.
This piece is something of a dream come true for me, as it's inked by one of my all-time favourites, comic legend Joe Rubinstein. Joe is an absolute legend in the business, and one hell of a nice guy.
Big thanks for Michael for letting me post this on here... check out his awesome 'one minute later' collection here

I cannot find anything to critique in this picture, it is that well drawn! Awesome work. It would look even better in colour!

The picture is splendid, but there is an error...Hulk CANNOT take Thor's hammer! Only Thor can do it!

You are correct!! BUT.... in the story that this image is based on, Thor asks Odin to remove the enchantment from his hammer... so that he and the Hulk could have a fair fight. But, as a result... ol' Greenskin is able to lift the hammer!

I really admire your work for echoing styles of the silver age, which will always be my faveourite.
As for critique, I think the first thing that I noticed could be improved upon was maybe the angle of Thor's head. It doesn't really look like he's interacting with the Hulk much. Also the angle of his left foot seems a little strange to me, but since my understanding of anatomy aint too great you can be more the judge on that one.

Other than that I see nothing that sticks out at me looking out of place. Really nice piece overall.

Thanks for the kind words, and the critique as well... in regard to your comments, I just wanted to show as much of Thor's face as possible... which may look like he's posing more rather than interacting with the Hulk (although I would probably look away if ol' Greenskin was about to attack me with a hammer!!!).

Haha! Yeah, I thought that may be the case which is a valid reason. Be a bit weird if all you could see was hair with a helmet on top!

Really noce composition on this one. (Recently watched Hulk Versus Thor and Return of The Incredible Hulk, so this is a treat!)

There's more than a little Ron Frenz-esque look to this, fantastic work!

Thanks Simon! What did you think of Hulk Vs Thor (and Wolverine)? I thought they were ok... just seemed like ol' greenskin was a guest-star in his own films though

Yeah, seemed like that to me too! (Tho' I did like the 'Hulk smash claw people line!)

('course its a cash-cow tying in to the new Wolverine and in-production Thor animation and movie)

Woulda' loved to see Hulk versus Thing though.

Maybe they'll think about `Planet Hulk', would make a great animated movie, watcha think?

I'd love to see a Hulk versus Thing as well, and Planet Hulk would be awesome.

Even more awesome... WORLD WAR HULK!!!
