A commission completed for a friend. It took forever to settle on a design, but I've gotta say I'm pretty happy with the balance here. I've been doing heaps of black and white work recently, which I love, but it was mega refreshing to do a full colour piece

When naming it I knew it had to have something about "fruits" or "ripeness" or "blooming"... Then I remembered it'd been 20 years since Nevermind and so 'In Bloom' it is! It otherwise has nothing to do with the song, lol.

This is wonderful!

This may sound odd, but I feel I should ask permission. Would it be okay if I get a tattoo based on this picture (if I show you a photo of it when it's done)?

I'll respect it if you say no, but I have been trying to come up with design representing growth and blooming (which is unique) and this is a thousand times more beautiful than the design I thought of.

Ah I haven't been able to do any more since we last talked! Sorry I've only just finished that publication work this week (I may post one of the big illustrations soon) and then spend the latter half of this week (like two days) making a business card for a close friend, who needs them for a specific event which occurs before I get back from overseas (I'm going to Thailand/Laos for two weeks from tomorrow!) haha. Been a bit chaotic. I understand if you'd like to give the job to someone else to do, but I assure you once I get back your logo and cards are the first things on the list!
