Stunning!

How ow did you learn to paint digitally? Through tutorials, watching others?

Thank you so much!

I'm a completely self-taught artist who taught myself the basics (and later much more than the basics) of Photoshop. I started with manipulations in 2010, but it wasn't until 2013 that I tried digital painting. I learned through tutorials, watching others, and also my own experimentation. I started with mimicry which was just taking a photo I had taken and trying heavily referencing it to replicate it. Over the years, I have progressed to the point that I can take several refs or no refs at all to paint. Before I did a digital painting though, I had practice doing heavy repaints on my stock horse horses from tack removals to detailing, so I knew the general placement of shadows and highlights on horses. The key to painting is to build up the colors to get the rich undertones and hints of colors. I keep everything on low opacity and low flow when working with highlights and shadows.

Your most welcome

Very cool to know, thank you for sharing! Do you use any certain brushes when painting?

I use mainly the default hard and soft brushes of photoshop. I have an obsession with trying out new texture brushes, but I generally only use those for landscapes. A brush that I absolutely love is the first brush in this set :RezKhan_Brushes_2013:  but other than that, it's just the generic default brushes for me!

Mmmmm the soft brush is called soft mechanical brush!!

And I have used it on hair. I pretty much use it for everything. I like the texture it has which adds dimension to just about anything I paint!

And no worries! I'm happy to answer all of them to the best of my ability
