My friend and I had a ridiculous text battle just after she had seen HTTYD.She wanted a night fury. I said I'd rather be one (really, with firepower like that, it'd be totally sweet!)
This is probably one of the only times I will ever have a human in one of my pieces (my talent has human-drawing issues).
I had the idea of my own night fury character for a bit, here she is. I give her to you TK, I'm still debating on her name, but since she's yours why don't you name her.

I have problems drawing humans too. I dont know what it is about them... its just wierd.
I wonder if I was a night fury if it would be easy to draw humans but hard to draw night furys... O.O if night furys could draw. Toothless can hes just not as good as Hiccup.

I'm a little nit-picky, so I'm going to point out that one of the Night Fury's notable characteristics is its yellow eyes, and I noticed yours are blue.
One more thing, what's going on with the tail? It looks like some sort of chemical burn.
Overall, it's pretty good looking. I can't draw worth crud. Better than anything I could do.

Secondly, I cracked up while reading the description--I was just thinking to myself the other night that my usual problem with "dragonrider" type movies and books is that I don't want a dragon, I want to be a dragon. XD This movie was so great, though, I didn't even care.

Vikings were Scandinavian, of course. Scandinavia incorporated several of the smaller western European countries, and a few of them speak in similar Highland dialects, and as we all know, the Highlands are part of Scotland and Ireland. Just a little FYI.

Very observant, those are the only two things I have changed on the original Night Fury design. This is not Toothless,I made the changes becase I am an artist and the character was for someone else. There is a story behind the scar.

Wasn't trying to spam , but ok, my bad. I also wasn't implying that this was Toothless, the bit about the eyes was in a species info, not directed at any specific member of a species.
I would have to say yellow eyes with slit pupils are more attributed to night vision, since most cats I see have the same eyes. Highly reflective, like when you drive past a cat at night, his eyes glow in the headlight, kinda cool.
I wasn't really pointing out the tail for a character flaw as much as what the story was behind it.
I don't know, I just tend to go on and on about the minor detail, even when it bears little to no significance.

Thanks for the information- I didn't know that. ovo But ya the typical scandinavian accents that are far more attributed to scandinavians are like... finnish, norse or swedish accents. I still think it would've been pleasant to see these less-represented-by-the-media where it'd be highly appropriate, like in a movie full of vikings, not that I don't love the irish accent. xP Kind of like how the upcoming Avatar the Last Airbender movie used all caucasian actors in a world based off asians and inuits and such. You could probably find a few examples of "white" tribes in asian heritage or something like that but that's not what Avatar The Last Airbender is supposed to represent. They took away so much of the magic and the humanizing values of the series. ;v; I think I have to boycott that live action movie even if I really love the story and characters and sense of humor of the original series and everything. ;A;
Of course, it's not bad to that extent at all in the Dragon movie. xDD Besides, scandinavians aren't exactly a minority that suffers from bothersome racial prejudice in the Hollywood world so I'm not complaining, just saying it'd be neat to see a swedish accent. xP

I'm with you on hating when they take a cartoon and make a live action. There's nothing worse than that. Except when they try to do Broadway shows, no greater abomination. CGI would be alright, if they found the right people to do it. Dreamworks would have to take it since Pixar belongs to Disney, and I haven't seen any other animation outfit that can match either one's quality.
I was checking some maps right? I found that there are Scottish, Irish, and Scandinavian Highlands, but Scotland has very close proximity to Norway, which lies in Scandinavia. Ancient Scottish weapons were also very similar to viking weapons, which leads me to believe that they shared their heritage with the vikings. So I'm gonna say that there were Scottish vikings. Whether I'm right or wrong, I said it, so it must be true.
