Description A zebra illustration I made for Safari West. This is one of 7 illustrations that will be used on directional signs for their tent cabins.

Here are the other 3 recent ones:

Beautiful work, as always Is that watercolor?
I like how the strips are nice and clean, and that you drew them in such a way as to give form to the animal. I can clearly see where all the muscles are supposed to be, and as for the pose, it's awesome!
May I ask how you where able to submit just the animal with no background? (Except for the DA one).

Thank you

It is arcylic, but applied like watercolor (greatly watered down).

In photoshop a remove the background from the image by selecting the image and creating a layer mask (masking out the background to hide it without ever completely deleting it). I save out as a .png more often than a .gif since gif's tend to leave a white border around the image.

Thanks.

This is the Burchell's zebra subspecies. They have those ghost stripes which are very strikings. It is the main type of zebra they have at Safari West.
