Kinda saw this summons coming, but I really like it and think you should keep it! I can already image some design concepts for the deer. Hmmm.. I think I might do some rough sketches.. Really loving the armor though!

I think the summons is pretty obvious, yeah. But I think they're versatile enough creatures and fit well enough that Shikako would go for them, even apart from the family connection there. XD I'd love to see your sketches, if you end up doing them!

ooooooo OH LA LA!!! I could totally see this as Shikako's summon. And i'm digging the sage mode hair style...can totally see shikamaru/naruto/sasuke/jiraiya/kakashi/everybodyelse flipping out over this. Love the red armor on the stag (is it a stag? No idea what they're called... =])

Deer show up pretty frequently in most mythologies. Guess there's just something about them. XD

Food from the meat (Mmmmmmmmm, venison, drool uncontrollably), clothing/shelter from the skin, tools/jewelry from bones, medicine from the velvet, and trophies from the horn. Native Americans on the great plains were the same way about the buffalo. They're just plain important to the culture's development.

It makes a certain tactical sense, too. Shikako can lock down enemies with her shadow jutsu, setting up the deer for devastating direct charges with the antlers.

I think they're probably a historical Nara summon, but they probably don't get used very much do to chakra constraints and all that. But I think they fit Shikako nicely.

i wasn't sure if you were actually ever going to give her any! but deer seem SUPER useful because no one even thinks of deer as something a ninja would summon and probably wouldn't even look twice at but

Summons seem to be something that all the upper level ninja have? So, yeah, she's going to get summons! Deer are just such an obvious choice, what with the family and everything, and they're pretty cool in their own right.
