Hello sweet character, awesomely bad background.This is actually a year and half old but it's one of my few finished actual paintings so I thought I'd add it to the gallery.
One of these days I'm going to redo the background because I get a clenching in my nethers when I look at it.
Acrylics on Comic Pro Blue Line paper of all things. Yes the paper is a little warped and yes it's all I had at the time.

I loved your panorama shot of Eger from the minaret. I've been there, took a horse ride in the hills above the city, and had some of the famous BikavΓ©r wine.

Thanks. Man, to think I wasn't going to post this one at one time. I honestly was not happy with the b/g. Still aren't, really. The kind words said about it have at least made me except it and I'm definitely going to use it in a portfolio at this point.
And who doesn't want nipples and gore? That's a rhetorical question.

Thanks Rose. I have to admit that I'm a wee bit surprised at the reaction to this one so far. I like the character but man do I hate the b/g. I wasn't going to use this as a submission piece but I'm starting to reconsider. I'll just have to do a little touch-up here and there.

See I'd beg to differ there, I think the background looks very effective. It's relatively simple which means that the main focus is on the character itself, and the green fits perfectly with the colours on the main character. I really like it

This is why it's great to get other people's opinions and critiques. I'm definitely a little more jacked about using this piece to get work. Plus it would be on a 2.5x3.5 game card anyways so detail isn't that important.
I'll fess up and admit that the real painting's b/g is like a light green/red/pinkish mess. I made it dark green in Photoshop. It's been quite the trial.

I was real happy with the way the figure came out. Especially the browns/coppers on her clothes. I hadn't worked with those colors and wanted to try for a different look.

this is really coo. I think the background isn't terrible, but it may have a beena bit better with some yellows oranges and reds...but otherwise...love the figure. The face and hair are great.
