Description Ever looked at your exposures for a HDR and thought: "Not worth processing"? This happened to me with this one. I did it anyway and it surprised me and turned out to be one of my favourites! The sky was very cloudy that day, there was a huge shadow and therefore high contrasts, so I decided to try some exposures for a HDR. And the result shows quiet clearly what HDR can achieve when a single shot can´t show what your eyes saw... I´ll post the exposures of this one, too, and you will know what I mean.

Spot: Austria/Vorarlberg/Brandnertal/Kanzelköpfe/Gamsluggen (View to Switzerland). Want to see the other side, too?
3 Exposures (2step), tonemapped, handheld (I wouldn´t have dared to handle a tripod where I stood - had to handle myself)

the background is so amazing, it makes the picture so great even I don't find the front part interesting... but I could stare at the background like enchanted

Many thanks - I know what you mean! I think it´s the contrast between the soft green hills and mountains in the background and the rough and naked stones in the foreground that makes the pic work.

Very well done. I particularly like that it seems quite natural, unlike some HDR.

Many thanks, Greg! Yes, daylight-landscapes look better if you don´t exaggerate the HDR-effects. It damages the sky sometimes and causes halos round the mountains - that´s what I learned so far...

You did a fine job with this! I haven't done any HDR myself, though I have experimented with blending two images (basically a digital version of a graduated neutral density filter). Perhaps one of these days...

It´s definately worth a try - hope to see your results then!
