'Kay, you guys- I'm not that much into Pokemon (in fact today I went to this, like, tournament thing for DS but all I had was Platinum so I felt like a complete JERK because I signed up to discover that I wasn't compatible with the Black and White users so I couldn't play), but my friend gave me a copy of Platinum as a present.

It's a lot of fun and I've always liked the "feel" of Pokemon games. I wasn't super taken with it at first,
BUT THEN
CYRUS HAPPENED.

I dunno! I just am really fond of him for no good reason- I am so amused that he's frickin' nuts, for one- but more than that is the fact that HE WALKED AWAAAAAYYY. The big climactic thwart-the-evil-and-admit-you-have-problems (as seen in above comic page) moment ended WITHOUT poke-girl/boy/Lucas/Dawn shouting LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP FO'EVA Shounen speeches at him (Cynthia's explanation of the same concepts was too nonsensical) and giving him a BIIIIG HUGGG or a Care Bear Stare (a la TV Tropes!) and making him come to the good side or become an antihero or whatever.
THAT IS HOW I BELIEVE THINGS SHOULD HAPPEN. I KNOW IT'S FORMULAIC AND CLICHE BUT IT MAKES ME HAPPY.

So, in a nutshell, this is what I got from the game:
Poke-girl Dawn's peacoat is FREAKING ADORABLE but she shouldn't show so much leg. SHE'S TEN... AND ALSO, IT'S COLD!
Poke-boy Lucas looks kinda gay with that scarf-tie, but he's still SO PRECIOUS.
Bidoofs suck.
I miss Gary Oak, like, soooooooooooooooooo much. WHERE ARE YOOOOUUU?
Fire pokemon are amazing. So is Staravia. Just sayin'.
Cyrus should have teamed up with the main character or been a (admittedly still creepy) big brother figure to them.

It might be good to mention that this snippet is from his scene in the distortion world in Platinum after you beat/capture Giratina.

About the art: It's really hard to do things digitally. I dunno, I did this completely in Autodesk sketchbook express and every time I saved and closed it merged all my layers... but what's odd is how it handles. All my stuff looks WAAAAY different. Whatever, enjoy!
