I can't seem to stop spitting these stupid WIPS can I? XDI'm really new to digital painting and I've just been practicing a lot, but I think I've just been going around in circles. XD Any suggestions or critique would be appreciated with enthusiasm! My biggest issue right now is that I can't seem to control the opacity of the colors with Paint Tool Sai as I can in Photoshop - In PS I can get this really dry effect but in Sai it just looks very watery and smooth. Again, any suggestions - especially on color theory too, Nephrite looks so wasted - would be greatly appreciated!
Um. XD; Uh, about the subject matter...
It was basically inspired by Sera Myu, the Starlights one XD. There was one scene where Nephrite towards the end had this epic one -liner of "Nefuraito! Stone of...." (I was assuming all of the Shitennou were calling out the stones they stood for; there were no subs but I kept on hearing "[insert] no ishi!" From what little I understand, ishi means rock). But the actor was so overenthusiastic and his wig was quite a mess from all the dancing, it flopped over his wide eyes and he basically looked like...as my friend described..."as though he had just crawled out from the bushes."
THEN add that to the fact I was watching Tarzan, and then....this happened.
Once I can post that picture of Wildman!Nephrite from Starlights I'll put it in the Artist's Comments. But for now, enjoy the random crack!

Imagine it. Zoisite grown up, hair askew, in a spotted loincloth with a necklace of teeth around his neck.
I'm not sure why, but the image is HAWT. It would ALMOST make me wish he was straight.

I don't see anything wrong with the opacity thing :O All my wip's look like absolute shit, this is awesome, especially if you haven't digitally painted a lot.
But. I would still tap that.

FIRST thing I thought of was "Tarzan/Jane." He definitely has the hair for it. XD He does look a bit yellow, but I guess that's supposed to be the camera? It looks like the picture from the movie. Is that what you were going for?
His loincloth looks more boxery-ish, but I guess he's just trying to be tasteful 8D

acutally i was looking for the easiest way out to NOT finish this picture but makae it look finished. XD. But then one thing led to another and now I have this.
LOLS I coudn't bring myself to draw an ACTUAL loincloth. Powerful thighs overwhelm me, as you know. XD

The pic itself is great. I love the anime pairing of Naru and Nephrite. Sometimes I still feel like crying when I think of his death. Oh well, somehow the first season has always been the best. Most dramatic and very sad and I felt a bit sorry that first they lost their memories, but still... the best season. XD

LOL, I reallly should post the picture, Nephrite was so.. insistent about his rock. XD Irrelevantly, it's the same Myu where Kunzite is played by a girl and Zoisite is played by a very deep-voiced man. XD
I love NephritexNaru! Much better than I like NephritexJupiter, although I can see it happening, and I'll only like if it's done well. While Naru lost her memories (T^T) I like to think she regained them at some point - even when Neph erased her memories she still had some dreams or inkling of what had happened. As much as I love Zoi, I could never love him in that episode where he killed Nephrite, it was just much too sad. I cry everytime T^T.

Yeah, NephritexNaru was nice. By the way, when did Naru lose her memory? Oo As far as I remember she was sad for ages over Nephrites death, until Umino saved her and she started to have feelings for him.

I assumed everyone lost their memories - after all, at the end of season one the whole world blows up and then gets restored, doesn't it? I forget. XD; I asummed it wasnt' just the senshi and Mamoru that lost their memories.
But Naru lost her memory once; when she went to see Neph dressed up as Tuxedo Mask and he took her energy he swiped her memroies but she had dreams of it the day after. That's what I meant.
XD I know. Ironically, Zoisite is the only character among the shitennou that does NOT get played by a woman at some course of the sera myu seasons. Even Nephrite's actor (the one who I was inspired by) had a funny gender/charcter change - he had to play Petz at some point, and the girl who plays Kunzite also played Esmeraude, and now all I can see is Kunzite in drag. *shot*

Uhm, no I don't think so. Only the senshi and Mamoru did, because they all died. The earth never did blow up, there were just some strange weather occurances or something like that, nothing more. The people on earth didn't even know the fight happened. ^^
Oh okay, that one. I have to admit I don't remember that episode. It's been suuuuuch a long time since I've watched the serie. *sighs*

Huh, didn't you watch the serie as well. I have to admit I am not 100 % sure still. Maybe the humans DID lose their memories as well, so Sailor Moon could be forgotten before she had to be reavocen again, I don't know. And it might not have been mentioned. I know in the manga the humans often seemed to turn into zombies all over the world and when the sailor senshi saved the day, the power they used made them forget while the senshi remembered. XD I have to admit, the only thing I never really understood was at the end of the manga, when Usagi decided to jump into that thing to destroy it with her life and was together with everyone and asked by this spirit (which I suspect if I understood right had been Queen Serenity, her mother, in another life) if she wanted to be reborn as Usagi or someone else, she woke up later in the future in a bed with Mamoru who had just proposed. I was not sure if she remembered and it was just a time jump or something else. *scratches head*
Did I make sense now? I fear I am a bit too tired to come up with the right words and all.

Lol thats' okay. I find most stories like that have tons of duex ec machinas to explain things like that that dont' really make any sense. XD. I thought since the cats said thath "everyone lost their memories" i assumed everyone did , like EVERYONE. After all, it'd be strange for Usagi to not remember anything but to have say Naru tell her, "Hey, why aren't you hanging out with Ami-chan, she'syour friend?" Or even "Sailor Moon saved me once" and then have usagi go "who the heck is Sailor Moon?"
XDD I was ramlbin too and I hsould go to bed as well. XD

Wow, you thought better about this than I did. XD When I heard the cats saying that I immediately assumed they were just talking about their Senshi and Mamoru alone. But your understanding of the situation makes far more sense. After all, it really would be strange if Naru suddenly starts talking about Sailor Moon or asks about Ami when they are no longer remembering each other and so are no longer friends anymore.
Damn, every time I write down Naru's name I want to continue writing and make 'Naruto' from the name. *sweatdrops* It's really unfortunate in some way that I am currently such a bit Naruto fan and Naru's name is like the shortform people tend to use especially when describe what pairings they like. XD
Ah well, now I think I'll go and continue searching for some Transformers/Harry Potter crossovers. I read some strange fanfics right now. Never though I would start to look for Transformers. I still don't like the original animation too much, it's just too old from drawing style. But I really fell in love with the movies, especially the second. And now I'll try and see what interesting fictions I can find based on the movie. XD

But I hate drawing the actual robots, they'er so hard! But I've found some Human!Versions wihch I like and I wish I could make up my own! I secretly ship OptimusPrimexMegatron. *sob*
I liked the movies , but I never liked the cartoon animations as much. Optimus Prime's character wasnt' enough of a character to make me like him, but in both the movies and other versiosn I've watched and liked (Canadian "Beast Wars" series), he had flaws and that made him much more interesting. I ADORE Beast Wars. <3

Cool, a fellow Transformer lover, great. XD I am very open about anything reading right now I have to admit. I don't favor pairings, really (and that's a first because usuall when I start reading a fanfic to my favorite series I am always stuck on the main pairing and I tend not to bend). Even though I like Sam and Mikaela in the movie. I still read some BeexSam fanfics and even one OptimusxSam which was interesting in itself. There was also this one fanfic with OptimusxSkywarp, a really well written story in my eyes and interesting. The only idea I totally shuddered about so far was when I stumbled over something that warned of SimmonsxLeo moments. Honestly, the pic what popped up in my mind head me wish to scream.
I think I also can not totally warm up to OptimusxMegatron, not while Megatron is his lovely evil self (and I like the Megatron of the movies). But you know, show me the right story and I might reconsider.
Yes, it's the same with me. I remember stumbling over the cartoon once or twice during childhood, but never liked it. Though I also could not find much love for Beast Wars, which has been shown in German as well. I remember that it was too much computer for me, it looked too fake. I guess I am picky with that.
Anyway, back to Optimus, I think the second movie was the trigger. I LOVE action movies with a LOT of drama as long as it has happy endings. And the drama of Optimus and Sam dieing was very touching for me. So much that I want and watched it a second time. XD Since then I am in love with Optimus from the movies. I am especially interested to read movie fanfics that center around him. XD The only problem with those fanfics is that a lot of people add some of the old Transformers from the cartoons. I don't mind that but since I don't know the characters, I have to admit that of course I would never realize if there is just a new character taken from the cartoon or if it's an OC.
And as an afterthough. I also LOVE the soundtrack of the movies. I have both Scores from the movies and even this special with 50 tracks from the first movies and I love it.
Ah, speaking of fanarts. I am interested in the idea of Human versions of the Transformers, so if you have some links to some of the drawings you favor, I would love if you could offer it to me so I can take a look. ^^
