Personality: Aspen is usually very quirky and is far from boring. Aspen is patient with people he cares about, but very short with those he has no affection for. He's prone to making few, but very close friends. Aspen immediately decides how he feels about a person - no ifs, and's, or buts, if he likes you, he likes you, if he doesn't, too bad. Aspen is very cross with people he doesn't like - he can become gossipy and tends to make dirty faces at them. However, with people he likes, he is undeniably loyal.

Backstory: Aspen was born in Sootopolis, Hoenn to a couple wed-locked. They weren't happy to have him, and they made it rather obvious. Aspen spent most of his time with his grandparents, affectionately called Nannie and Pappy. During his childhood, Aspen was incredibly anti-social. He only talked to his cousin, Lanie, who thought he was a little weird. At five, he received his first pokemon: a Houndour, named Jones. Aspen and Jones were inseparable. When he was thirteen, Aspen was confident that he was homosexual. His parents were more than happy to take this as an excuse to kick Aspen out of the house and start him on his journey. Aspen and his first pokemon, a Houndour named Jones, traveled around Hoenn, adding a few more pokemon to the team. When he was sixteen, Aspen had his Houndoom taken by Team Rocket. Aspen suffered trauma from the experience, having issues with memory loss. He began tying ribbons around his fingers, each associated with a different memory he found important. He trained and searched for Jones, eventually finding his way to the first Helios competition. Here, he met the one true love of his life - Mickhail Marchen. Completely infatuated, Aspen attempted pursuing Mick (unsuccessfully). After finding out that Mick was a rocket, Aspen accepted the fact that he could never get his Houndoom back. After Mick's elimination from Helios, he vanished, leaving Aspen an emotional wreck (that's an understatement). Aspen was also eliminated from Helios and began aimlessly wandering around Sinnoh. He reunited with Jones, regaining his memory. Jones is unable to battle due to the physical strain, so Aspen battles with Marian. Aspen kept close friend Aster nearby, eventually re-uniting with Mick (and never leaving his side). The three developed a tight relationship, and Aspen and Mick eventually became engaged (Aspen's suggestion). After Mick's sudden death dissapearance, Aspen, phased, having not really accepted it yet, decided to go back to the competition that gave him the happiness he remembered by becoming a judge for Hyperion, in hopes of getting it back.
