It looks like they could use rounder, softer shapes, especially for their heads.
There are some fantastic anthro ponies by Extvia and KamiCheetah that feature these characteristics.
And it works best if you really crank up the cute with large heads and short legs, like in the show.

Mmm... I think you could have gone for more realism in their head structure, to go with the style you used for the limbs.

On another note, I don't really dig the use of narrow equine legs for anthro. I prefer it to look a little more like the show. *shrugs* I guess I'm not a fan of really thin legs.

I think cartoony is probably the best way to go with the anthro ponies. Realism just looks a bit dodgy. I'm sure you'll get it soon.
