Excuse me, but I take great offense to the fact that you think this entire planet is "ruined". This depiction does not represent what I see in life. I go outside and see beautiful, blooming flora and feel the wind and smell the rains. Maybe certain industrialized or abandoned cities are this grim, but not the entire planet, not my city, and we are certainly not "ruined" whatsoever.

I guess we all see the world a little differently. I am well aware there is imense beauty in this world but this illustration isn't about asthetics. It is a metaphor it's not meant to be taken at face value, it is looking at political failures and corruption which could quite possibly ruin this planet. And I'm also well aware that anything we do will not destroy this planet, it will just destroy the human race, the planet will easily be able to heal itself after we're gone.

What, other than a major nuclear war, could eliminate all humans? Sure, maybe very few humans could be left after major disasters, but some would remain.

I'm not saying this is going to happen soon, but yes you are right, if a disaster did happen then there would still be some survivors. Nothing lasts forever though. I really don't want to come across as pessimistic (even though I'm sure I am), I have a lot of hope but there are many obstacles in our way.

Everything is eventually destroyed and everything is eventually recreated into something else that's new. Trying to hold on to something and control its safety is simply futile.

yeah, i'm pretty optomistic too, which is kind of why i think humanity as it exists today is about done with, but our planet still has a while.

Our planet will be fine. Once we're out of the way it's more than capable of regenerating itself. It's been through a lot worse than what we've done to it.
