Cause Ally got me dorking over this club

Name: Daiyu
Gang: Ashbirds
Bending skill: Fire style Air Bending. Daiyu grew up with a family of fire benders and learned the basics of fire bending before discovering her element was actually air and learning any techniques of air bending. Because of this, her bending style resembles the fire bending fighting style with the quick jabs rather than the sweeping circular movements of the air bending fighting style style. She knows the basic movements like the punch and kicks of the fire bending style and that's what she uses. She does know the proper way of air bending since it was beat into her by her great-grandmother, she just chooses not to use it.
Personality: Tough, independent, shy (at times), caring
Their Past: Daiyu grew up in a family of firebenders, her siblings are firebenders, her parents are firebenders, her grandparents are firebenders, only her mother's grandmother is an airbender who married a firebender. So everyone assumed Daiyu would also be a firebender and taught her all the basic skills to firebending at a young age, even though she showed no signs of firebending. Then one day when she was 9, playing with her best friend Shai, she bended air. Her great-grandmother came down to the city of Jing Dou from the air temples to teach her how to bend air properly, and become a proper monk, much to Daiyu's disdain. Her great-grandmother tried to shave Daiyu's head, give her tattoos, and teach her the proper way of Airbending. She didn't want any of that but eventually gave up on getting the arrow tattoos on her left arm and leg, and learning the true airbending fighting style. Though when her great-grandmother isn't there to see Daiyu uses her as she calls it fire style airbending.
Their Present: Daiyu's mother had grown sicker over the years until finally the doctor told the family she needs an extremely expensive medicine that she'll need to take everyday for the rest of her life so the disease will not harm her and be kept at bay. Daiyu's family never had that kind of money and her mother only grew sicker. Daiyu was is distraught unsure what to do when she saw an expensive looking statue. Without a second thought she stole it, not knowing it was property of the Ashbirds'. They chased her down until she was cornered by the gang's leader Huojin. She set her stance ready to fight, and Huojin was also ready expecting to fight a firebender. He was surprised though to find that Daiyu is actually an airbender. Even though he defeated her easily, he was impressed by her unusual style and spunk, and asked her to join the Ashbirds.
Their Future: She hopes to get the money for medication for her mother, that's her motivation for being in the Ashbirds.
Other notes: She has the arrow tattoos that monks sometimes have on her left arm and left leg after giving in a bit to her persistent great-grandmother. Also she recently has short hair because she woke up one night to find her great-grandmother cutting her hair and preparing to shave her bald. Yes her great-grandmother is crazy, she even forces the poor girl to meditate every morning, thankfully Daiyu is allowed to drag Shai along with.
