Description
Umigozen is a Japanese Sea Yokai monster that is a folklore in Munakata area, Fukuoka Prefecture.

Umigozen is a female boss of Kappa and believed to be wife or mother of Taira no Noritsune who killed himself during the Battle of Dannoura between Heike family and Genji family in 1185. The wife/mother drifted from the battle and survived, then turned into yokai monster. It is also believed that Women of Heike family turned into Kappa as well as Umigozen, and men turned into Heikegani crabs.

As she used to be a Heike family, Umigozen never attack any human except from Genji family.
