yes, queen beryl of the moon kingdom.. er like. when she used to live in the moon kingdom with all the other sailor scouts and whatnot >_>; yep. sailor moon fanart. this one i used reference from the sailor moon manga ... i drew beryl because i wanted to draw her hair and clothes! hehe. done about a month ago. eh. so many mistakes TT_TTooh and in the manga those things on her dress were just scribbles... and i had no idea how i would draw that so i just made up some weird looking square/triangle thing. >_>; i have no clue what it is so dont ask.hehe.
.5 mech pencil.. i think about and hour and a half..

Thank you so much for doing this! So many people think Beryl was just a bad guy, but I think there was much more of a back story with her and Endymion. It says in the manga she loved him, I kind of like to think there was a Eponine type thing going on there

First: Beautiful drawing of Beryl.
Second: She didn't live in the Moon Kingdom, but on Earth.
Third: Yes, she was in love with Endymion and Metallia used her jealously for the love affair between Serenity and Endymion as fuel to start the war.
Fourth: Takeuchi-sensei never explains what or who Beryl is exactly. We don't know if she worked in the palace as a maid or was just a peasant who saw Endymion one day and fell in love. NO ONE KNOWS!
I am a huge Sailor Moon buff, so I kind of know this stuff. However, you did a great job of capturing her longing and in saying so, keep up the good work! ^.^

One little side note: She didn't live on the Moon. She was an Earthling in love with Endymion.

Very nice, but Beryl was a witch in Elysion and was turned against the Moon-Earth alliance by Metallia via her jealousy of Princess Serenity over Prince Endymion.

very nice shading, i like how you blended the light to dark contrasts, depicted the style of naoko takeuchi very well, with still adding your own flare, ....................*think a bit* i might be mistaken, but is this scene in the manga? i seem to recall something of beryl having a flashback, looking aroung the corner like this....hmmm.......if so, nice rendition of the sceen ^^

yeah, i've had the manga for a long time, in fact, i have some SM fanart in my own gallary if you'd like to check ^^
i actually found several volumes for like, 50 cents at a library once, they were selling the old stuff to get new
you should be able to buy them at justmanga.com and they take money order, so you don't need a credit card ^^
