A painting derived from what I've learned from my Art History and Painting classes..
My first oil painting I did outside of my painting class!! : ) I was very intrigued by the concept of memento moris..
Received critique from my professor that I used too smooth brush strokes on the girl/hair, and it was too rough in the orchids. But overall, a great start in experimenting outside class
Medium: Blick Oils + Liquin.. appx 5 hours, 8"x11" canvas paper for oils. (Had leftover pre-mixed paint from the previous painting and didn't want it all to go to waste! Happy I put it to good use
