Yay for screwing around in Paint shop pro!

stars don't seem quite right.. I'll probably go back and fix that later.. Off to bed!

Yeah, the stars are a little 2-d. Make 'em more stellar, know what I mean?

This is an awesome image anyway though. X3

My suggestion for the stars. The bright ones perhaps should be behind the purple and shine through the clouds. Other than that, I think it is great.

I made my own star background in paint.net, and that is how i made it:

1) Use "increase noise" on an empty canvas
2) Adjust colors to make everything black/white
3) Use contrast dialog to weed out stars that are too grey
4) I think i used the "glow" effect at the end.

You can see my star background in quite a few of my deviations.

pdn has a plugin for star fields now. And then you can use glitter or sparkle blurs to add some depth.

This looks good so far - I see what you mean about the stars but only because you drew attention towards it. I'm hoping to do more art like this! Just takes so long sometimes!

That is very very good. My son does that type of art in acrylics. It is amazing.

I'm so jealous of people who can do that... I wouldn't survive without an "undo" button
