Description What is the rush?

One thing that photography has done for me is it has taught me to slow down and soak in whats around me. The proverbial saying "Take time to smell the roses" is becoming more predominate in my life. There is so much beauty around us that we miss everyday because we don't take the time to notice it. Walking around this city that I once hated I now find a new joy in living here.

This is not an HDR like many of my other photos.

I just got my dslr. My early shots were on a point and shoot similar to yours. Then I started learning on a friends dslr. You can make great shots with any camera. It's not the equipment that makes a photographer its the passion and vision to see it and make it happen. I am new to photography and still have much to learn but that is what makes it fun. Don't be afraid to ask someone how they did something. Thats how I am learning.
