Personality: Likely born a wild horse, Duke retains a very strong, deep rooted sense of feral wildness in his behavior. Unsocialized with humans, he gravitates towards horses and can be outright violent when approached too quickly or too boldly. He is a fearless and powerful stallion, whom may have to be gelded in the future to lessen his aggression. He's kicked staff members in the past, can be dangerous in saddle, and is known to bite at hands when being fitted with tack. He is a very unruly, angry, untrusting horse whom holds some sort of grudge towards anything on two legs. Rightfully so, though. He was formally a rodeo horse: whipped, beaten, chased, grabbed, taunted and frightened day in and day out. This abuse comes through in his wild, angry, strong willed personality. Unlike most horses, he's far more confrontational than he is flighty, and can be dangerous when cornered. It takes a strong, fearless, but patient hand to work with him, giving him time to settle before attempting any unusual behavior.

Though he is much calmer around other horses, he has a terrible relationship with the stable's champagne stallion Glory. Their stubborn personalities clash, so they must be kept very separate from one another.

Background: A former rodeo horse, Duke was found completely on accident by the STS staff. A truck carrying the horses to their next rodeo location broke down just outside of town. Riley and Skol just so happened to be traveling back to the stable after purchasing some feed items from the farmer's market when the truck drivers flagged them down for help. The two boys did in fact stop to help (better that than go back to the stable to pick up poop for the rest of the day) and, while they attempted to get the truck started again, the horses in the trailer became restless. Specifically Duke, who doesn't like to travel. One of the handlers for the rodeo took the paint mustang out and attempted to walk him around to get his energy out and to hopefully calm him down, but Duke was wild and unruly, so all he did was fuss, jump and kick at his handlers.

This of course attracted the attention of Skol in particular, always interested in a challenging case. He offered to buy Duke from the men whom obviously did not enjoy the horse's company and, after a little bit of bartering and spending almost all of the money he had on hand, the practically feral mustang was his.

The other staff were a little bit skeptical, as Duke remained almost feral even once set free on a pasture. He had no trust in humans and was outwardly aggressive, biting and even kicking wildly whenever approached. But Skol was determined as always to tame the mustang and, over time, seemed to get Duke to calm down. The mustang still is only somewhat rideable: he has good days where he'll listen a little, and bad days when he'll buck like the rodeo horse he once was. But, he is responding, especially once he's had enough exercise to let out some of that frustrated energy of his.

The scar on his muzzle was likely from the cruel confinement often suffered by rodeo horses.

What are the requirements to having a "Stable"? I just saw something on Angel's page, I think it was, and you (STS Artists) said that you would have to have a stable to breed with her? Might I ask just what it means to have a Stable?

How to begin- GuideTKC is G-rated. Please pay attention to this rule. This is a game meant for everyone.
:icondivider0plz::icondivider1plz::icondivider2plz:
We were all new to this kennel thing at some point, and it can all be a little confusing, like breeding or competing how does it work?
There are no rules or set limits on how to begin, you can go completely your own way and run this virtual kennel however you please.
But if you are confused on where to begin we got some guidelines for you.
Some basic words that is often used within the dog art world:
Darpg= Dog-Art-Role play game
Sire= The father of a dog
Dam= The mother of a dog
Dog= Sometimes used to describe a male dog
Bitch= Sometimes used to describe a female dog
Pedigree= A dogs bloodline, who are the parents of the dog, grandparents etc.
Temperament= A dogs personality
Discipline= What the dog is used for, what it is trained to do.
Show/full name= A dogs complete name for
This guide describes fairly well what it takes to start a kennel, and a kennel is just a stable for dogs. A horse focused stable would have the same elements, just with horses.

Sure. Though if you want us to make the foal, you'll have to pay us in points and will have to wait for our current breeding cue to clear.
