dude, that's a reading. ._. it's a lot more fun if you read it for yourself since sometimes the site itself is affected to go along with the comic. for example, one of the characters gets pissed at the narrator and starts to hit the window with a crowbar. windows on the site (like the comic and the ads) start to falling down with each hit of the crowbar. simply put, it's better to experience it yourself. this guy's going really fast and i can see why you're not interested.
but if you do it and the slowness bores you too much, then it's okay. ^^

It's complicated. She dies a lot of times in the game. But in the first part, her grandfather is really dead. His corpse was stuffed and preserved as per tradition.

Like I said, it's complicated. I can't tell you that myself.
I actually went into a full blown fan-rant with Bianca over troll romance when I was introducing her to Homestuck. Here's the basic gist of it (from what I understand from the comic and the wiki):
Trolls don't feel love the same way humans do. Rather, they base their quadrants on two primary emotions: pity and hate.
Red romance (β₯ and β¦) is tied to pity, while black romance (β and β£) is tied to hate. Concupiscent quadrants (β₯ and β ) are intended for reproductive purposes and sensual emotions, while conciliatory quadrants (β¦ and β£) revolve around platonic emotions.
The heart (β₯) quadrant is referred to as the flushed quadrant or rather, matespritship (a portmanteau between "mate" and "esprit", which is French for 'soul'). Matesprits feel strong affections for each other, which makes it the closest to human romance (but not quite). It is a mix of pity and sexual attraction. An example would be John's Dad and Rose's Mom.
The diamond (β¦) quadrant is referred to as the pale quadrant or rather, moirallegiance (a portmanteau between "moira", meaning 'fated' and "allegiance"). It is tied to pity. Moirallegiance is basically like "family love", although trolls still see it as a type of romance. Moirails are compelled by fate to watch over each other, with one moirail keeping the more violent one calm, and the other moirail protecting the weaker one. An example would be Nepeta (Leo) and Equius (Sagittarius).
The spade (β ) quadrant is referred to as the caliginous quadrant or rather, kismesissitude (a portmanteau between "kismet", meaning 'fated' and "nemesis"). Since there is such a thing as platonic hatred between trolls, kismesissitude is defined by a mix of hatred and sexual attraction. Kismesis strive to better their other kismesis by constantly challenging them, though they are discouraged from killing each other(since you'd pretty much lose a quadrant). Kissing is also seen as an appropriate expression of a budding kismesissitude, much like in matespritship. An example would be Jack and the Black Queen and ZaDR.
The club (β£) quadrant is referred to as the ashen quadrant or rather, auspisticism (a portmanteau between "auspicious", meaning 'fortunate, promising' and "armistice", meaning 'truce'). It is, in my opinion, the most often ignored quadrant. Basically, an auspistice is a mediator between two trolls who are in a kismesissitude. The auspistice makes sure their relationship is functional and they don't end up killing each other. A kismesis pair can be 'auspisticized'. The most famous "auspistice" is Kanaya (Virgo), who formerly mediated between your OTP, Tavros and Vriska.
There is also what they call "quadrant vacillation". Some relationships have one person feeling flushed (β₯) while the other party has caliginous (β ) feelings. Oftentimes, one party will adjust their feelings to match the others, (β₯->β =β or β ->β₯=β₯), but not always. This results in vacillation which is why auspistices are necessary in troll culture.
Trolls also have "friendship" though they refer to it as a disease.
Don't worry if you couldn't understand that. It took me a lot of tries before I understood that too.
