Description When i saw a video about some of American Laser Games' arcade games on Youtube, i noticed one part of it being a lady in red coming from the game known as Who Shot Johnny Rock?, meaning that she was blonde and carried some kind of machine gun (or Tommy gun, if you will) coming from the 1930s and all that.

It gave me the idea of drawing Akane Mikami as that same lady in red, though the story of this game, who is set in a Hollywood-style of 1930s' Chicago, is mostly about a private detective being hired by that lady in red, though i forgot the name of that one, in terms of finding out who murdered a nightclub singer known as the titular Johnny Rock himself. The private detective has to attempt to find Johnny Rock's killer, all while shooting down villains and interrogating individuals. The detective also has to go through the gangs of four gangsters with names like Measles, Mumps, Smallpox and Lockjaw Lil, who all knew Johnny and also has to go through locations such as a warehouse, a pool hall, a garage and a casino. The game itself was released in arcades, as well as on MS-DOS, Sega CD, 3DO and CD-i in or around 1994 and was not considered to be a good game, from what i've found out in Wikipedia, especially seeing that the specific timing of shooting criminals can be hard to handle (even though the Sega CD version does support the Konami Justifier gun accessory and all that).

It was also re-released on DVD in 2001 by Digital Leisure, though trying to shoot the criminals with an interactive DVD remote can be quite hard to handle too. Quite frankly, i've not played that game, nor seen its arcade version in my then-local arcade area, but while the game is considered to be bad, the cover in itself, on the other hand is good, which is why i've drawn Akane in the role of that lady in red, though the actress' name who actually portrayed the lady in mind... i've seen the name, but forgotten about it.

Oh well, anyway, here's Akane wearing that same outfit from the American Laser Games (the same company responsable for games such as Mad Dog McCree, Space Pirates and more). Don't she look beautiful wearing that outfit, with a Tommy Gun in her hands? Don't worry though, the gun itself is only a prop.

Thanks, ZK. And if you look closely, it was inspired by the cover of the interactive shooting game Who Shot Johnny Rock?, which by the way, the game itself may have not been good there. But the cover itself is quite good, so to speak. But that's it.

I think, this is good game for this genre: funny characters, nice acting, retro setting. Interesting game.

If it’s a 1930s Chicago theme, then it has to be a Tommy Gun with a drum magazine, nicknamed the 'Chicago Typewriter'.

I still like it’s looks over most modern SMGs like the MP5 and so on...
