Here's a photomanip amidst the exams (couldn't resist with this image so vivid in my mind), done in two nights! This came to my mind when I was reading One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern. When a 'butterfly lady' was mentioned as such, I knew I had to make a photomanipulation inspired by that unique and beautiful character. Cecelia Ahern's character has a birthmark across half of her face, and have always been keeping herself away from unnecessary social contact. Whenever she does meet people, her hair will be down, covering half of her face. She takes comfort in beautiful creatures like butterflies, constantly seeing beauty everywhere, wishing they were her own. What she fails to see are people who care not about her appearance, but her heart and her dedication towards her butterfly museum.
I have yet to write a review for it. I'll share it on here when I do!

You have some really cool ideas with your work. And honestly your technical skills aren't far off. The composition here is better than in other manips because you have your main figure in the center, which is considered "powerful" composition, but it could still use some work. Consider where your eye is led. Right now, for me, my eye goes to her finger, which is pointing off the page. What if you were to have something there that she is pointing to, perhaps a bigger butterfly?Β Your second focal point is her face, and you did a solid job drawing attention to it by using light around it.Β
I'm trying to figure out the background. I would maybe add some Lens Blur on low radius to the blue hydrangeas to soften them a bit. Did you use gaussian blur on the foreground? It's just a little too much. Have you considered putting a little bit of smoke in front of her, too? Or, another idea would be to soften the whole image with a texture on really low opacity and Soft Light.
These are just my ideas, and others may have completely different thoughts. I hope they are useful. Really nice work, congrats!
