What better time to draw them out! Take a myth, legend, or fairy tale and bring it to life on paper! There are hundreds upon hundreds of fables and stories out there, go wild ^_^.
Welcome to Wonderland Are you a fan of Alice in Wonderland? Give your spin on this classic children's story. Make it bright and lively like Disney, or dark and twisted like Johnny Depp. Or make it up as you go along!
The Rules
1. Digital or traditional drawings and paintings only. Black and white images and lineart will not be accepted (sorry!).
2. Work must be NEW and made specifically for this contest. When uploading, please make sure to list in your description that it is for this contest.
3. FAVE THIS JOURNAL so others can see it. I don't have many watchers but I'd still like to have a decent sized turn-out for this contest
4. OC's, Fanart, whatever is accepted as long as it is done in the anime/manga style. I'm trying to keep everything fair between contestants.
5. ONE ENTRY PER CONTESTANT. I'm giving a lot of time before the deadline so make sure you put your heart into it
6. No tracing, stealing, or copying other artwork. Please do not use bases, even if you credit back to them.

We will be judging on how well you represent/incorporate the chosen theme, artist merit, and overall appeal. Good luck to everyone!!

Well, not yet. After the end of today I'll close up shop here and post all the entries. That's step one. Then I'll be getting with my other judges to go through all of them. First we have to pick the top contenders in each genre (to make things fair), then pick the top three overall from those. Hopefully it won't take too long.
I can't really speak for the other judges because I don't know their schedules, but ideally I'd like to have them posted by sometime next week.

Oh, and I am wondering, are the prices for all categories together or will there be 3 winners for each theme? o.o

I'm planning on judging them within each of their themes to narrow down maybe...the top three entries in each group...and then pitting those against each other to decide the prize slots. Depending on the turn out this number may fluctuate.
If there is a theme that doesn't have enough interest, for example, and maybe only has two entries total...even if they pass to the second round of judging there may not be a representative of that theme in the final running, depending on how they stack up to the rest.
So first, second, and third place does not mean one from each theme will automatically make it. It shall be the best of the best. But each theme will be judged seperately at first to keep things fair, naturally, allowing each theme the chance at winning. I hope that makes sense.
The other judges and I will be collaborating at some point in the judging process but will get to pick our top three entries in each category seperately.
