Ah finally, I am participating in Link's Blacklist available at .If you've played Zelda like I have; you can tell that for an ongoing project such as this that many bizarre and unique creatures from the Legend of Zelda series have already been claimed and drawn by various artists. As such, the more elaborate enemies have already been done.
So here we are doing enemies from the very first Zelda game on the NES: a classic if there ever was one!
And the monsters featured in this game are pretty classic too: knights, skeletons, dragons (under different names of course) and ghosts. The ghosts are what I chose for this project; or as they are called in Hyrule: The Ghini!
What are Ghini? Well they're traditional looking ghosts with a single eye and they seem to hang around graveyards. With the exception of their single eye they're pretty standard ghost designs.
So I decided to not only draw a few of them ganging up on Link; but also the setting to which I remember them being in the most. That one particular graveyard you visit to reveal a hidden dungeon passage. Well they're not making the path any easier for Link here are they? XD
I didn't go overboard with design here as this exemplifies classic Link to me: keeping it simple. And Ghinis are simple designs to begin with. More thought process went in the background to make it appear like it was leaping from the original game.

I actually did play with the game a bit on my emulator...but realized that in order to truly play and appreciate it....I need to play it seriously. XD
Buuuttttt.....I'm distracted with Fallout4 right now. So that'll have to wait.

Even though I don't actually own an original copy of the game for my NES collection (I did, however, used to own a copy of "Zelda II" before I somehow gave it away), I do have it available on my Nintendo Wii as a Virtual Console title, and I also have my copy of the NES original that was released on the Game Boy Advance.

Great sense of nostalgia with the classic Zelda title, that still holds a high score on favourite games overall, even past those of more modern design. Sometimes it's the original 8-bit works that can be the most entertaining and have excellent replay value. Reflecting on the scene itself, those were always annoying, and yet, such was the risk for great reward with the trick being to get all the ghosts out, then attack the vulnerable one, and bring on the treasures afterwards, assuming you survive.

Granted bro. Although I do remember loads of frustration from the original as well. Mainly how many enemies gang up on you and drain your energy. So this pic goes well with that type of situation. ;D
Yeah I noticed earlier I made Link left-handed but decided...whatever. XD I already drew it so too little to late.
