Radiant explosions reflected in your [e/c] orbs as beautiful displays of color, followed immediately by ear-shattering booms filled the night sky. Your mouth hung open in awe as you attempted to imprint the marvellous pyrotechnics into your memory. Taking your chances when a small break appeared in the show, your [e/c] gems turned to the right to see your olive-haired boyfriend who sat beside you on the cool grass. “They're so beautiful, aren't they? I'm glad you brought me here!,” you cooed, but as you turned your gaze back towards the sky, a chill ran up the length of your spine, causing you to shiver.

“[Name]? You're shaking like a leaf. Are you scared of fireworks?,” Makoto asked, surprised. You shook your head and opened your mouth to reply, but Makoto clued in before you had the chance. “Ahh, you're cold. I suppose it is a little chilly tonight, huh? Here, this will help,” Makoto spoke sweetly, quickly taking his jacket off and draping it around your shoulders. His strong arms set themselves around your frame, hugging you closer to his warm body.

The rest of the show continued without a hitch, until the big finale came to light. You watched with worry in your eyes as the show's coordinators lit the final group of fireworks with yells of panic following. Something had clearly gone wrong, causing your eyes to widen in horror as you saw the fireworks shoot halfway up into the sky, before cascading downwards, heading straight to your position. “[Name], we gotta move!,” Makoto spoke in an urgent voice, gently hauling you up with him. As he rushed you away from your position, the jacket on your shoulders slumped off and fell to the ground.

The fireworks continued to fall, uncaring of what lay beneath them, and landed on the grassy area you previously occupied, effectively engulfing Makoto's jacket. You watched on from your safe position, with a certain sadness filling your eyes. “I'm sorry, Mako. I know that was your favorite jacket, I should've tried to save it,” you lamented, miserable feelings overcoming you.

You were quickly pulled out of your mild depression when you heard Makoto's chuckle dancing through the air. “[Name], you're so ridiculous. You really think I care that much about a jacket?,” he asked, gently grasping your chin in between his thumb and index finger and lifting your gaze to meet his.

“I'm just happy that you're safe, you mean so much more to me than some silly jacket.”
