Well, I thought I would take a break from the comedy, and move along to the serious. Who better to do serious fan art of than Ciel Phantomhive?
This was a harder project than I thought it would be, and took me longer than I thought it would too. I breezed through the lineart fairly quickly, and was shocked that he seemed easier to draw than Sebastian, especially with all the detil, but then... things, they got complicated. I went out and bought a new set of pencils for this (even though my old ones are still a very complete set), because after finishing the line art I realized my last fan art of Sebastian in the soldier's uniform was HORRIBLY smudged. Sad to say, it's not the pencils that were the problem (it's the paper in my sketchbook). Ciel started smudging just as badly (curse my left-handedness)... This took a lot of erasing, a lot of care, and pulling out my blending tool to get the graphite to hold to the paper. Sadly it's not the look I envisioned, I wanted to show a little more texture in his hair and on his clothes, have some of the pencil lines come through (couldn't even add them after the fact).
Please forgive the quality of this too, my aunt's scanner did something strange to it, washed away a lot of the shading on his face. I tried to fix the contrast and brightness on Photoshop, but this was the best I could get.
