DescriptionBecause that title worked well in the past.I originally intended to draw this for kilara 's birthday on the third, but I am a little late. This is her Ilumarae character, Drejrael. I've known you for a long time, Ty, and I don't think I've ever drawn you a full picture!! Happy birthday though, I hope you enjoy this.

Drejrael has been pretty much one of my favourite avian characters, a tie between him and Nailmus, really. I think this image brings a full feeling of somehow, emptiness in a way, a sorrow, yet a new hope, because of the perspective that you've chosen to portray him with. There's a very tight palette that you've used, and the purple glowing markings contrast to the calmness of the other colours really nicely. Your soft painting on Drej's body is just precious, it makes him look really sleek, like I'd want to touch the texture of his skin. Nice work, and I'm sure that Kilara likes it (:

Man, seeing you work on all the crazy little tiny details was really great, and it really shows in the feeling and grandeur of the picture even if each tiny thing can't be seen at this resolution. I love his feather crest, each feather is just so crisp!
