Description Here is again, tried to define him some more and the species that he fitted best it, decided to opt for the him being a panda like character.

Still a ways to go in terms of digital practice but happy with the turn out thus far. Working with muscle this time with some perspective, not something I've worked with a great deal with defining and working with the muscle features of a characters so I'm sure there are areas that look a little odd shall we say? Arm was properly the hardest area since I wasn't sure myself which was I wanted to face or to get it to match a great deal with the rest of the structure. Eventually get the blasted thing right in time, but not here, at least in my eyes.

Trying to simply things in the colouring this time right and something to explore and present later on. Simplifying the strokes and softer shading in selected so that things don't feel so heavy, mainly since I noticed I'd make more mistakes with just slapping the brush around without really thinking of what colour should be and fix things later on or spent more time re-correcting areas due to that issue.

I've given him a prototype name: Cider. Not permeant by any means so far and might be changed depending on peoples response. So let me know guys and girls if the current name should stay or be changed.

Interested to know what you all think.

wow, this guy has a pretty cool desing I think! Specially the colors and the way you have made the hair are cool; the hair looks cute and I particularly love the tone of the color green I this it's great the way the hair fall down in the face, and the proportions of the face and body are very well done, too.

The coloring it's good, just one little advice I would give you; to add a bit more of light in the dark areas next time you do a painting like this, cos for example, the background it's too shiny and makes one wonder where the shadow come from or why the character seems to look to dark in comparison. And it feels like the muscles are a bit overworked.
I like the way how you drew the eyes too! But referring of the painting I think they can be more lighter, too.

By the way, I came here to your gallery cos I saw one of your comments on a piece from an artist I'm watching, and it catches my eye how detailied and cool your comments about stuff are! So I just, wanted to let you know that I think that's really great! Specially cos not every people take their time to say something with meaning on other fellow artist's art.

the coloring is pretty good, but you really need to work on the anatomy a little more, the face is fine, just the body structure

Wow, I must say you improve more and more! I really love how you worked with the colors in this picture. The Character looks very interesting and makes a sympathic appearence. I don't know what to say, but the way you worked with the light and shadding effects just blow my mind! those details are amazing! I'm getting kind of jealous.

I think Cider is an adorable name.

Muscles are something I have to work on myself, so I'm not much help there.

I've always really liked the 'traditional' texture and strokes of your work, I'd like to one day try that myself, but I don't think Gimp supports that.

Thanks for saying, this will properly be the official name from now on.

I'm still trying to fine the right approach to colouring since I can never be happy with what I've done or always find it makes things still flat.

I think you did a great gob on the muscularstructure, he looks really buff.
I love the colouring too I think this style of brushwork suits the character really well.

I really like his face, its so sweet and cute! Though, the cute and childlike face doesn't quite fit with the muscular body IMHO. I know you were practicing your muscles on this picture, so I understand how you came up with this. I just suggest that for future images of this character you try drawing him with either a more masculine face, (try larger eyebrows and mouth and/or heavier jaw) or less definition on his muscles.

I love this pic though! You totally have a talent!

Thanks for the tremendously sweet comment and thoughts. The next time it might be a wise idea to step back with the muscles around the arm and chest, not to get rid of them, but to slim them down to match the face rather than bulk it up. Practice is practice though and it's always nice to see where to go next afterwards.
