Personality: A free-spirited and strong-willed girl, Jay hates being told what to do. While the things she enjoys doing aren't actually considered bad, she doesn't like being told what she can't do. Her father could barely control her and her wild outbreaks, and eventually, he began shunning her completely, leading Jay to her hatred of anything male. Because of this strong fear of abandonment, Jay secludes herself from everyone that might have at some point considered a friend. She still has the ability to be friendly and sociable, but it's deteriorated over the years, leaving her only an awkward, stubborn girl.

Background: Born and raised in America, Jay's father was a business man that would take frequent trips back to China, leaving her behind as a child. Jay lived through this, completely fine with it as long as she was still allowed to do as she pleased. She grew up without knowing where or who her mother was, only knowing that she probably doesn't have one. This didn't bother her either, but it left its effect on her. Jay never had another female influence in her life, only a nanny that dressed her and made sure she didn't get herself killed. This led to her lack of feminine "charm", though, her free-spirited nature was able to keep her afloat for awhile.
As she grew older, her arguments with her father gradually became more and more severe. At first it would only be small things, such as his request that she act like more of a "lady", but Jay immediately rejected the idea. As time went on, her father did nothing to repair their relationship. Without a single parent to depend on, Jay began to hide in herself, not wanting to be hurt by anyone. She began to foster a hatred for any authorative figure, but mainly for any male in general.
When she reached her preteen years, her arguments with her father were at its worst. That year, her father returned from China with a new wife, one that represented everything Jay had never grown up with as a girl. Her new "mother" was pretty and polite, everything that her father had wanted her to be. Jay realized all this, and after some sort of odd revelation in her mind, she was determined to hate her father and hate that woman he brought to her home. In a fury, Jay ran away from home, hiding from her father until she nearly died of fatigue and hunger and was returned to her father.
Concerned, her father didn't know what to do. The years passed after that incident, but Jay only grew a quiet anger at the world, ready to bolt out of the house as soon as she was old enough. That was, until her step-mother's son entered the picture.
Jiao, now old enough to care for himself, came to America to meet with his mother, Jay's step-mom, and confront her about her betrayal to his father. To Jay's surprise though, he got along pleasantly with her father and step-mother, this stranger. It was Jiao that recommended Jay be sent to Yakkaina, saying that after meeting so many great people, he had no problems. The rest of that was history. Immediately, Jay was shipped off, in her father's futile hope to convert his daughter to a normal sweet girl.
