CP4 cover
the original sketch had the usual dramatic lighting and lots of dark colours, but my friends pointed out that all of my covers are predominately dark so far, so I tried a much lighter colour theme instead. When next to the other 3 books the contrast makes the set look sooo pretty, but on its own it's so shoujo looking LOL ;_; I think I'll try to alternate between the two with covers from now on. - - - -

its not only the drawing which is awesome, i really love the typography too! one of my weak spots though... but damn. i just tryed my first time drawing a manga and then i see this... you are just awesome!

usually my art takes 20-50 hours but this one is probably less than that (: the letters are just drawn with a regular brush and paths haha

It's wonderful and so well drawn... I I have just one pièce of advice to give you though: don't forget about Keri and Ewolyn's (I have a doubt on how to spell her name, sorry!!) relation to Véloce, they have to be important too since we started with them!! Especially Keri

Did you write your whole story first before you drew it or do you do both at the same time?
And on what size do you usually draw if i may ask?

I plan and write out the story first, and I draw thumbnail plans of all the pages (aka storyboard) before I illustrate them out. I draw my pages on printer paper size paper (lettersize), and resize them to be smaller when printing.

why don't you try to do a combination of the two, a blend of light & dark (not too light, not too dark.)

yes, but not too light/not too dark on the same cover would make it predominantly mid tone (even more so than this current one)and that makes the cover difficult to stand out ): i think contrast is important

I think it looks just as dramatic as your other works - just in a much lighter palette. Not too shoujo at all, IMO!
