The mosque of Muhammad 'Ali Pasha was built between 1828 and 1848. Perched on the summit of the citadel, this Ottoman mosque, the largest to be built in the first half of the 19th c., is, with its animated silhouette and twin minarets, the most visible mosque in Cairo.The mosque was built on the site of old Mamluk buildings in Cairo's Citadel between 1830 and 1848, although not completed until the reign of Said Pasha in 1857. The architect was Yusuf Bushnak from Istanbul and its model was the Yeni Mosque in that city. The ground on which the mosque was erected was built with debris from the earlier buildings of the Citadel.

really GR8 work mohamed ali citadel is my favourite mosque...but the only thing i dont like in this photo is the sky i think it has to be lighter i mean to reduce the color so that to be more natural... i know HDR changes el quality awe bas try to fix this part it will be better especialy if the colors in brown it will be more relevant to the colors of the mosque

i have 20d and 350d
and the 10-20 was from europe i cannot remember for how much but it was something like 4000 LE the lens the camera depends on the body of course

we have a very similar mosque here in istanbul...
aand about the hdr teqnique that u have used... its a bit out of high definitive range i guess... the detail enhancer works well with an other layer... however this is too much fantasy... one my want it but than u should have bbalanced the colors... now it just look raw...
dont take it wrong... its just critisizm...

sherif this is amazing.. in the small view i thought there was some embossing PS filter applied but i know u wouldnt do tht! its lovely.. i even like the distortion.. i think u can do alot alot more with this HDR thing (havent heard abt it before but reading up on it now)
btw u live in a very beautiful part of egypt! i must definately visit it one day!

Well, as far as I understand, non-muslims aren't allowed in mosques. Which I always thought was a pity, because they're so beautiful, and something I'd like to experience.

ok let me tell you that i am Christian and i was there
Mohammed Ali Mosque is considered as one of the Islamic historical spots.
the only thing they ask you that if you are wearing short skirt or anything similar to put a scarf on you when u go inside the sanctuary area.
i live in South Sinai which is an amazing place to experience desert , mountains and of course one of the best areas to do snorkling and scuba diving
