This image seems to have quite low saturation. Was that deliberate shibashake ? I'm not suggesting that this is a bad thing; it simply gives the image a more sombre feel. What do you think?

Yeah, definitely a more somber mood. I think I wanted a less saturated palette, although if I were to redo it today I would increase contrast by a bunch.
