This is a visualisation for our urban planning project this term. There are many things that could have been done better and so on but it would be insane to keep on working on this. It would become a life times work of improving. So I keep it like it is and let you tell me what you think about it!

A great thanks goes to all those who provide stock on deviantart:

A skateboarder zooming around a marble bench (and bicycle rack for locking) would fit in well with your lovely "interweave life" pic.

It is an urban planning project. What you see here is an inside perspective of one of the blocks of an overall structure. The focus of this visualisation is therefore on what is happening in those open spaces inbetween the blocks, not the architecture of the blocks themselves. The concept itself can be summarized in the title: Interweaving live. It operates in a greater scale with bringing people in contact with each other in a suburban area that at the moment has rarely any activity at all. I hope I could give you some further insight

Thanks for the insight, now I understand a little better your work here, causing people to intereact with each other in open spaces is always a tricky bussiness, specially here in Mexico where most tries to spend time in front of the TV, to cause a mini pole-of-attraction (or at least that what my urban planning teacher called it) is the most difficutl task one can try to tackle in a project like this. what does make people want to come out? what makes them want to interact with each other? that's always tricky.Β

Yes, you're right it is really tricky business, although people here in germany are of course different than in mexico. Nevertheless we really struggled with our self-imposed topic till the end. Today we had our final presentation and our project was the one that got the longest and most controversy discussion. Whether this is good or bad I can not say however

as long as discussion was theoretical or academical is ok, and it is only as good or bad as you allow it to be for you.

Yes, the discussion was on a totally objectively level

Then the feedback you get is just another way to learn. Keep up the good work!

What was the project objective if I may ask? I would probably add more garden in the central plaza, or at least try to make it look more green (I assume the parking lot is elsewhere) though I like a lot the lawn furniture to enjoy the outside you place, the green I talk about I would probably have tried to integrate it to the red sculpture you have in the left, so it would be a checker pattern between the grass and the tiles you use for the floor. I see what you tried to do with the yellow in the balcony, though I would probably tried to use some steel handrails instead, so it would be more open, unless of course it is because of a safety regulation that you use a massif element. Other than that I think it is a good job.

It was an urban planning project. It's an inside perspective of one of the blocks we're (I did this project with a partner) suggesting to bring more life in an area that is almost dead you have to say. Therefore what you see here is part of a bigger structure and should show what possibilities these open spaces inbetween the blocks offer, and yes, parking lots are outside. Therefore our focus in this project is not the architecture of the buildings around, they just have to suggest of which kind the usages are. It is on what is happening there, how people are using those spaces, therefore we tried to get as much diversity in this visualisation as possible Thanks for your kind review!
