Description I randomly came across 'Spider-Man 2' on cable TV tonight, not long after it had started. Despite the fact that I have the DVD, despite the fact that I've seen the movie a million times, and despite the fact that I had other things to do and draw....I sat there and watched the movie the whole way through to the end. And then I spent an hour or so sketching this instead of what I had originally planned to draw.

I swear, there is no escaping that pudgy-cheeked smirk. Curse you and your becoming villainy, Octavius!

I hate foreshortening and trying to make things look dynamic. Meh. Also, I have no idea what he's so excited about and stomping his way towards. Perhaps somebody left a cigar or a plate of cookies on their apartment's patio table.

Great use of perspective! This looks great. He does look like he's after something.

And I, too, fall victim to watching movies on TV that I have on DVD. The first Spider-Man movie was on the other night and, despite having a nice, commercial-free version in my movie cupboard, I watched it on TV. It's a bizarre habit.

I like his frenzied, 'gotta get there nows' look. I think the forshortening works well for the half that is farther away from us, but the arm that is closer to us looks a little wonky. Maybe the shoulder is a tad too larger or something. And by the way, it's so totally an Oreo ice cream cake he's after.

Yeah, it's that close arm that's bugging me, I think. That shoulder is a bit too large, and some of the positioning all-around in general could use some work, I think. Ah wells, now I know for the future.

Oreo ice cream cake!! I want some! ...With all that damn leather and thick cloth he's got going, he probably does need some way to beat the heat in NYC.
