I decided on a slightly harder drawing challenge: more body, smaller portrait. It didn't turn out flawless, but I guess I'm satisfied with the results. This is also my first drawing on my new Bristol paper. After drawing this, I was wondering why I had drawn on print paper for as long as I did! I was originally going to get Canson, but all the store carried was Canson's recycled Bristol, (I didn't want that) & Strathmore Bristol, so I went with that. I really like it!Tools used:
Strathmore Smooth Bristol paper (9x12 in.)
Derwent graphite pencils & a mechanical pencil
White gel pen
Kneaded eraser
Blending stumps
Tissue
Reference was an Avengers still (I think) of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. I probably wouldn't have drawn this one, had I known how popular this reference was for drawing. Lol
Time: 15+ hours
I'm quite ready for my weekend drawing break.

This is really incredible! The detail is amazing, you paid attention to everything down to the teeth of the zipper! The more I look at it, the more details I notice and the more amazing it looks!!
I also really love how you did the blurred-looked background, it's a nice contrast against the sharp portrait and looks like a photograph (except much cooler

I find that if I draw the face first, I get impatient with everything else, so I drew her clothing first. Texture? Just a lot of patience, time, & drawing exactly what I see on the reference.

I mainly color dark shades like that with something like 6b, or I forget exactly which one with this particular drawing. Also, I darken the exposure after scanning, because my scanner destroys the contrast. The texture? Many hours of patience & drawing exactly what I see on the reference.

Okay... I need a new Black Widow reference picture...
Good drawing! I really like the smooth shading on her face, the sparkle in her eyes and the S.H.I.E.L.D. emblem!
Some little things to improve: Her right eye "slipped" a bit down. It could've been a bit more top left, so that the eyes are a bit more parallel to her mouth and the forehead (hope you understand what I try to explain in English! 
And yes, If you've ever tried to draw on another paper you'll never go back to print paper!

You were explaining in English just fine until..."...so that the yes are a bit more parallel to her eyes & forehead..." "Yes"? Typing too fast? Lol! I know, I see many flaws too! My scanner did enhance the "hard" look more than how it really looks, but it does need more smoothing. Hair... Now did you mean her right eye, or the eye on your right? Because her left eye is the one I can see is on the downward slant.
I know! Print paper sucks! Lol!
