Fffffff guyyyss!

I have to say, I am quite excited about this piece. It feels, to me, like the first actually complete piece I've done in a very long while. There is a background, a character, movement, composition... And everything turned out pretty much how I wanted it to, although it could have been more painterly... I need to break out of that habit of mine..

Anywho, Shauni flying above the clouds with an aurora in the background. I have still been playing around with her design a little bit, even since starting on her ref sheet.. My teacher gave me a good idea about her clothing, to look at Native American clothing designs for inspiration, and I sort of took that and ran with it. Quite happy with the direction its going, though.

Her tail still bothers me a little bit.. The tail fan is still too heavy looking and will need to be slimmed down eventually, and the tail probably ended up too large in this drawing (I was trying to mess with the perspective, but failed.. :/ )

This was our first project for my portfolio class, and I am quite happy with the way things have been going in school, even during the first few weeks. And I actually finished this one on time for once! woot
