I've just seen the movie and loved it!
I've read this amazing book 2 years ago and your image has been the most perfect and beautiful representation of the book !
It has been my desktop for months...and now it's back again on my PC!
Great work !!!!

Amazing. I just read the book so this is nice to cap it off with. If they can really make a movie out of this I will be shocked and happy. Go Steven Spielberg

THIS IS INCREDIBLE
How did you manage to do this sort of movement?
What programs were used and what was the process?

Photoshop can do it, with numerous layers... It's hard to explain even with my own language. Google those software tutorials, it will be clear than my poor English.

I do I do like this kinda work. I listened to the audiobook last year read by Will Whedon. Great stuff and this picture is an awesome tribute. I was gonna ask where's evangelion in the 2D version but I guess I didn't look propoerly. But i can see the mecha in the back there...wow amazing work.

Downstairs is correct~ Both can do it.
Only need to move the image element, produced five frames~

The effect seems to have been done in Flash. Might be PS. If you look closely it's just specific layers being moved around.
